Lozinsky case: another defendant detained
Vasily Lozinsky, Deputy Minister of Community Development, has been exposed as taking a $400,000 bribe.
As reported “Judicial legal newspaper”, Deputy Minister of Community Development Vasily Lozinsky was exposed for receiving 400 thousand dollars in bribes. This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
Thus, on January 21, NABU detectives convicted the Deputy Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine and other members of an organized criminal group of receiving $400,000 in unlawful benefits for facilitating the conclusion of contracts for the purchase of equipment and technology.
Preliminary legal qualification of the actions of the detainee – Part 4 of Art. 368, part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Currently, persons are detained in accordance with Art. 208 Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine. The issue of reporting suspicion and, accordingly, choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.
“In the summer of 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 1.68 billion to restore critical infrastructure facilities and provide the population with light, heat and water supply in the winter. However, as part of the investigation, it turned out that a number of officials from central and regional executive authorities decided to embezzle part of state funds. Thus, being in collusion with other persons, officials ensured the conclusion of procurement contracts at an inflated cost with predetermined business entities. At the same time, entrepreneurs had to transfer UAH 280 million to officials for “winning” in tenders, which was the difference between the actual and purchase cost of services.“.
“During the searches in the businessmen’s office, UAH 920,000 and USD 38,700 were found and seized,” the SAP notes.
The department adds that the exposure of the criminal organization, which included the Deputy Minister, was due to the rapid penetration of detectives into the organized criminal group.
Investigative actions are ongoing, all persons involved in the commission of this crime are being identified.
The NABU notes that more than 150 employees of the Bureau took part in the operation to expose the organized crime group.

Also at night, one of the members of the organized crime group was detained, who was trying to cross the state border and leave Ukraine. The investigation continues.
We add that the detainee Vasily Lozinsky get fired from office.
