The founder and owner of the investment company Concorde Capital, Igor Mazepa, opened a fundraiser for bail for the former chairman of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Andriy Kobolev, who elected such a restraint. The banker plans to collect UAH 229.248 million by Monday, March 6.
About this Mazepa informed March 2 on Facebook, writes business.
According to him, allegedly, if it is possible to collect the full amount for bail, then if the lawsuit ends in favor of Kobolev, the collected money will be returned to everyone who joins the collection. Or the money will be transferred to the Come Back Alive charity foundation.
Mazepa explains his decision to raise money for bail by saying that he considers Kobolev innocent. In his opinion, thanks to the leadership of Kobolev, Neftegaz became a successful, profitable company.
“In addition, he is one of the regular guests in the nightmares of Putin and all the leaders of Gazprom. It was Andrei’s example that inspired many bright people not to be afraid to go into power and change this country. And this country has already begun to change. But change won’t happen on its own, especially if we don’t all demonstrate that we demand it here and now.”, Mazepa explains his position.
Recall, according to the investigation, the head of Naftogaz, Andriy Kobolev (2014-2021), in May 2018, contrary to the requirements of the law, issued an order to reward the company’s employees, on the basis of which he was paid almost UAH 261 million (the equivalent of USD 10 million) for “extraordinary achievements”.
At the same time, during 2018, according to the investigation, the suspect was illegally paid more than UAH 229.25 million (the difference between the actually paid premium and its maximum allowable amount) at the expense of the company. It is known that in total Kobolev received from Naftogaz almost UAH 600 million in bonuses “for the Stockholm Arbitration”.
On January 19, NABU and SAP reported to Kobolev about suspicion of taking more than UAH 229 million in 2018. At the same time, on January 31, the VAKS recognized the suspicion of the ex-head of Naftogaz as unfounded.
On this occasion, the Anti-Corruption Action Center stated that the decision of the VAKS Appeal means that the investigating judge had previously made an illegal decision and it was canceled, and suspicion from anti-corruption authorities Andrey Kobolev justifiably.
