ARMA does not work well, almost nothing has been done with Russian assets in Ukraine – Fiala (DOSSIER)
Dragon Capital CEO criticized ARMA’s work with Russian assets in Ukraine.
Dragon Capital CEO Tomasz Fiala criticized three things the Ukrainian government has done since the start of the war – ARMA’s work, delays in appointing the head of the SAP, and lowering taxes on imports. HB.
This was stated by Fiala during his speech at the EBA Global Outlook: Victory Mode.
“As for anti-corruption things, there are delays in the appointment of the head of the SAPO. ARMA also works very poorly – these are Russian assets that are located in Ukraine. So far, almost nothing has been done, although since May there is a law according to which they can be nationalized,” Fiala said.
Also, the head of Dragon Capital called the reduction of taxes on imports unjustified.
“Tax cuts in March on imports. It seems to me that this is not justified. If this was done, it had to be stopped much faster than at the end of June. We were losing a lot of money on VAT,” Fiala said.
According to the businessman, there is no need to reduce import taxes with such a budget deficit. He also added that the reduction of VAT on imports hits local producers.
“The state, unfortunately, continues to do it pointwise – this is a reduction in VAT on the import of generators”, — added the head of Dragon Capital.
He also criticized the 2% tax for sole proprietors and the reduction in taxes on fuel.
Earlier, ARMA said that they do not report on the management of Russian assets due to the need to “apply significant intellectual efforts.”
