New episodes of crimes are imputed to the leader of the Tambov organized criminal group Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin), also known as the night governor of St. Petersburg. This was reported to Lente.ru by a law enforcement source.
According to him, the person involved in the case is accused of inciting two murders and illegal arms trafficking. Currently, the investigative actions in the case have been completed, Barsukov and his lawyers have begun to familiarize themselves with the materials. After that, they will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for approval of the indictment, and then to the court.
This is the fifth case against Barsukov, notes Delovoy Peterburg. He is charged with inciting the murder of his close associates – security guard Georgy Pozdnyakov, who was a co-owner of the Hollywood Nights club and Yan Gurevsky’s godson – on the basis of personal hostile relations. According to investigators, Pozdnyakov and Gurevsky provoked a conflict between Barsukov and an authoritative businessman Konstantin Yakovlev (Kostya Mogila), who was killed in May 2003 in Moscow.
The killer shot Pozdnyakov in the spring of 2000 in the sports center of the St. Petersburg State University of Communications. Gurevsky was killed in the summer of the same year at his house in St. Petersburg.
In 2012, the prosecutor’s office returned this case for additional investigation due to violations found in the materials.
The leader of the Tambov organized criminal group was detained in 2007. It was one of the most influential and cruel criminal communities in St. Petersburg at the turn of 1990-2000. According to the press, the organized crime group was created in the late 1980s from young athletes from the Tambov region. In 2019, Barsukov was sentenced to 24 years for contract killing, a series of raider attacks, extortion, and organizing a criminal community. He was also charged with organizing the murder of State Duma deputy Galina Starovoitova.
