Dubas said that while recovering from an ordinary injury, Rodion developed symptoms that required a more thorough examination. As a result, the hockey player was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Now the athlete is undergoing treatment in Germany and will not return to the hockey rink until the end of the season.
“We are in direct contact with the hospital to oversee his treatment and care. Rodion has the full support of the Maple Leafs and we will continue to provide him with the best possible care throughout this process,” Dubas said.
