In Moscow, employees of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) and the FSB detained the former CEO of Merlion Vyacheslav Simonenko.
Previously, he was a victim in an attempted murder case involving the shareholders of a large IT company. Then they were all released, and the investigating authorities took care of the ex-victims.
The Main Investigation Department of the TFR applied to the Basmanny District Court with a petition for the arrest of Vyacheslav Symonenko. He is charged with committing crimes under Art. 307, Art. 306 and Art. 303 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (knowingly false testimony, knowingly false denunciation and falsification of evidence). The businessman was detained by the FSB, but on Sunday the Basmanny Court did not choose a measure of restraint for him, deciding to continue the proceedings on Monday.
The investigation believes that the ex-general director of a large company slandered its founders, accusing them of organizing an assassination attempt on himself in 2015. Then, according to the entrepreneur, his house in Krasnogorsk near Moscow was bombarded with Molotov cocktails in an attempt to destroy the family of Mr. Simonenko along with the house. The testimony of the victim was confirmed by one of the alleged perpetrators, a participant in the hostilities in the Donbass, who said that he allegedly received an order from the head of the Merlion security service, Boris Levin. He, along with the founders of the company Oleg Karchev, Vladislav Mangutov and Alexei Abramov, was detained by employees of the main investigative department of the TFR in Moscow. By court order, they were taken into custody.
