At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, Poland extradited Lilia Kovalenko to Russia, accused of fraud with tourist vouchers.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the crime happened back in 2015 – Kovalenko, being the director of the Eighth Heaven Tour travel agency, received 700 thousand rubles from four people. For this money, she had to pick up tours, book tickets and more. However, she simply embezzled the money and disappeared. On behalf of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the woman was put on the international wanted list. She came to the attention of law enforcement officers in the summer of 2021.
