The Moscow Regional Court will consider a criminal case against a 63-year-old man accused of occupying a high position in the criminal hierarchy and possessing heroin.
This was reported to the City News Agency “Moskva” in the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Moscow region.
“The prosecutor’s office of the Moscow region approved the indictment in a criminal case against a 63-year-old man. He is accused of committing crimes under Art. 210.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Occupation of the highest position in the criminal hierarchy”) and Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal acquisition and storage without the purpose of selling narcotic drugs on a large scale”). The criminal case has been sent to the Moscow Regional Court for consideration on the merits,” the press service said.
According to the case file, no later than 1980, the attacker was endowed with the informal status of “thief in law” within the framework of the traditions of the underworld. In this capacity, corresponding to the highest position in the criminal hierarchy, the accused repeatedly took part in the so-called “thieves’ gatherings” with other “thieves in law”, where conditions were created for the merging of the interests of organized crime, and the spheres of criminal influence were divided.
“In January 2021, during a personal search and during an inspection of the attacker’s car, law enforcement officers discovered and seized the drug heroin. After being placed in FKU SIZO-6 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Moscow Region, the accused “announced” to the persons held in the institution his criminal status, occupying the highest position in the criminal hierarchy, the will, instructions and orders of which, in accordance with the customs and rules of the criminal subculture, all persons those with lower criminal statuses are obliged to obey unquestioningly,” the supervisory authority noted.
