The deputy head of the regional branch of Yabloko in Moscow, Kirill Goncharov, invited rapper Morgenstern (Alisher Morgenstern) to join the party and run in the municipal elections in 2022 in any of the districts of the capital.
“He has a democratic view of the future of the country, he is a smart guy and could become a good politician. Moreover, it would be an effective way to counter the police lawlessness that is organized against him,” Goncharov said.
At the same time, the Yabloko press service stated that “any Russian citizen who has a passive suffrage and shares the values and program of the party can propose his candidacy for the nomination from Yabloko.”
“The decision to nominate will be made by the Moscow regional branch,” Yabloko spokesman Igor Yakovlev told Znak.co.
What decision will be made if Morgenstern wants to become a candidate from Yabloko, Yakovlev found it difficult to say. A spokesman for Yabloko also noted that he “would prefer to see another rap artist, Oksimiron, as a candidate from the party.” “But since about 1,500 deputy mandates will be “played out” in Moscow, there will be enough space for everyone,” Yakovlev noted.
Recall that today it became known that administrative proceedings were initiated against Alisher Morgenstern on drug propaganda in three video clips for his songs. According to TASS, citing sources, the case was opened by policemen from Naberezhnye Chelny.
At the request of the security forces, a comprehensive linguo-botanical examination was carried out, the authors of which concluded that “a plant similar to hemp is depicted along the edges of the tattoo on Morgenstern’s chest.”
