In the Volgograd region, five members of an organized criminal group (OCG) were sentenced to terms of 2.5 to 5.5 years for the illegal sale of black caviar.
This was reported to Lente.ru on Monday, February 14, in the press service of the FSB in the region.
The sixth accomplice was sentenced to a year of hard labor. They were found guilty under Article 258 (“Illegal harvesting and trafficking of especially valuable wild animals listed in the Red Book and protected by international treaties of the Russian Federation”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to the investigation, the defendants traded the delicacy under official brands. In April 2019, during searches, 120 liters of black caviar, 47.5 million rubles, 39 thousand euros and 17 thousand dollars were seized from them. They also took cooler bags, containers and lids with logos of well-known manufacturers, seaming keys, printing stickers, computers and draft notes.
The attackers sold the goods on the territory of Moscow and the Moscow region, where they delivered it on vehicles equipped with hiding places. They also worked in Volgograd, selling black caviar at a price of 35-40 thousand rubles per liter.
