The Public Opinion Foundation found out the attitude of Russian citizens to the withdrawal of foreign companies from the country and the sanctions imposed by the West due to military operations in Ukraine. As it turned out, a significant part of the population does not see problems for themselves in what is happening.
The Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) conducted a sociological study to find out the attitude of Russians to the current sanctions that are being imposed on Russia due to hostilities in Ukraine, as well as to the withdrawal of foreign companies from the country.
According to almost half (49%) of the survey participants, the cessation of the work of a number of foreign companies in Russia will not affect their quality of life in any way.
25% of the respondents believe that the withdrawal of Western companies from the Russian market will not significantly worsen their quality of life, another 7% believe that it will “much worse”. The most pessimistic attitude in this regard was found among respondents aged 18-30 – in this category, 44% of Russians expect deterioration in one way or another.
As sociologists have found out, in general, the inhabitants of the country are well informed about the sanctions that Western countries have imposed against Russia because of the hostilities in Ukraine. 57% of survey participants know about them, 28% have heard something. For the first time, 13% heard about sanctions, another 2% found it difficult to answer.
The majority of respondents (83%) said they would not refuse to purchase foreign goods for political reasons. 52% of respondents think that there are more domestic food products on sale than imported ones.
