On Friday, February 18, the Lublin Court of Moscow replaced Oleg, the brother of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny, with a suspended sentence for imprisonment in a strict regime colony. Oleg Navalny did not appear at the court session.
This is reported “RIA News”.
Last summer, Oleg Navalny received a year of probation in a case of incitement to violate sanitary and epidemiological rules. The Federal Penitentiary Service demanded that the probation be replaced with a real one, arguing that Navalny did not register with the penitentiary inspectorate, as required by the conditions of punishment.
“The court found the inspectorate’s arguments reasonable and ruled to satisfy the idea of replacing a suspended sentence with a real one in a strict regime colony,” the judge said.
However, Oleg Navalny did not appear at the court session, and now, most likely, he is outside of Russia. According to the materials of the court, in September he flew to Cyprus and the Federal Penitentiary Service has no data on his return.
