Famous American actress Whoopi Goldberg got into a scandalous situation. She stated that “the Holocaust is not about race” and later apologized for her words.

According to the channel, the actress on the air of the show The View, where she co-hosted, on the ABC channel, repeatedly stated that “the Holocaust is not related to race.”
The show was partly about the Tennessee School District’s decision to ban Maus, a graphic novel about the horrors of the Holocaust. The state previously removed a book from its eighth grade English curriculum, citing “crude, unacceptable language” and a drawing of a nude woman.
According to the channel, during the roundtable, the actress said she was surprised that the nudity in Maus, and not the Holocaust itself, was worrying the school board.
“If you’re going to do this, then let’s be honest, because the Holocaust is not about race.” She added that the Holocaust was about “man-on-man cruelty” and added that “two white groups of people” were involved.
Following this, Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt condemned Goldberg’s remarks. Many Jewish leaders were also outraged, according to the channel.
The 66-year-old actress later claimed on her Twitter account that she made a mistake in her comment:
“In the show, I said that the Holocaust is not about race, but about the inhumanity of man against man. As Jonathan Greenblatt stated: “The Holocaust was associated with the systematic destruction by the Nazis of the Jewish people, whom they considered an inferior race.”
She also apologized for her remarks.
“Jews around the world have always enjoyed my support and it will never stop. I’m sorry for the pain I caused,” wrote Goldberg.
After the scandal, the leadership of the American television channel ABC suspended Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks from participating in the talk show The View.
