The Felicity Ace is in distress in the Atlantic Ocean. It transports about 4,000 cars from Europe to America, and a significant part of them are expensive sports models. About it informs CNN.
Felicity Ace left the German port of Emden on 10 February. The ship was heading to the port of Davisville in the US state of Rhode Island. It is known that on board are expensive cars of the Volkswagen concern – Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini and even Bugatti.
The Felicity Ace distress signal was sent 90 miles southwest of the Portuguese Azores. Due to a fire in the hold, the ship lost control and all 22 crew members abandoned it. They were later picked up by a Greek tanker and the Portuguese Coast Guard.
A car carrier on fire continues to drift in the Atlantic Ocean and is followed by a Portuguese patrol boat. The ship’s owner plans to tow it to the nearest port.
The Volkswagen Group confirmed that Felicity Ace has the concern’s cars, but did not name their exact number and do not know their condition. According to preliminary estimates, about 1100 cars – Porsche. Among them is the Porsche 718 Boxster roadster, ordered by the famous American journalist and blogger Matt Farah.
