A girl from Nigeria, who was kept in slavery by a resident of Surgut for five years, will soon return home.
This was reported by representatives of the public organization “Alternative” in their official Telegram channel.
“A girl named Osafamen from Nigeria came to Moscow in 2016, where she met Sergey, whom she fell in love with. After some time, the young man invited the girl to his hometown – Surgut. Upon arrival, the man took away the documents from the girl, after some time he began to show aggression and violence. At that time, the girl had already given birth to children from him, on which to this day there are no documents, ”the organization’s channel reports.
Osathemen could not leave the house from her tyrant husband for fear that for overdue documents she would be arrested and sent to prison. She spent five years without the ability to use the phone, but still managed to establish contact with her parents and representatives of the “Alternative” – an organization that fights slavery.
The Surgut police did not receive any reports of beatings or forced detention. They reported that Osafamen still lives with her husband and children who do not have any documents and are brought up at home. Law enforcement officers also clarified that her passport was overdue for more than four years.
The girl said that after publicity, she was able to begin the process of recovering documents and confirming motherhood over the children whom she wants to take with her to Nigeria after completing all the bureaucratic procedures.
