The Yandex company is not going to put on its resources the counters of the Mediascope company, which is authorized to measure the Russian audience. Instead, the company plans to independently transfer “a set of depersonalized information sufficient for analysis.”

The company believes that in this way a balance will be struck between the protection of user data, measurement transparency and laws.
The main owner of Mediascope is the state-owned VTsIOM. She was chosen as the measurer of the Runet audience at the profile commission under the RKN.
In accordance with the law adopted last year, sites from the list approved by the commission are subject to research. Site owners cannot refuse to cooperate with the meter, but they are given the right to choose: allow Mediascope to set up their own counters or transfer logs on their own.
In total, the list of resources whose audience is to be measured includes 79 sites, including the Kinopoisk online cinema owned by Yandex, the Yandex.News aggregator, Yandex.Zen and Yandex.Video services.
Cooperation with sites in terms of providing data for the study will begin on March 1, 2022,
