State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin confirmed that Sweden and Finland did not let the government plane on which he was returning to Russia after a visit to Cuba and Nicaragua. According to him, because of this, the flight time increased by 2.5 hours.
“The route was agreed in advance, but the European countries refused to let us board. It happened when they were supposed to enter the airspace of Sweden,” Mr. Volodin wrote in his Telegram channel. Viacheslav Volodin added that “everyone on board reacted with understanding to what happened.”
Earlier, TASS, citing a member of the delegation, reported that Sweden and Finland closed the sky for the government Il-96, on which Vyacheslav Volodin was returning to Russia after a visit to Cuba and Nicaragua.
Against the background of the operation of the Russian army in Ukraine, 10 countries closed the airspace for Russian aircraft: Great Britain, Bulgaria, Poland, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Romania.
