Vadim Gutzeit does not want to communicate with Belenyuk/Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine
Vadim Gutzeit, who is the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, plans to run for the presidency of the NOC. The official stated that candidates for this position must have managerial experience in roles, according to 24.
The election for the President of the National Olympic Committee is scheduled for Thursday, November 17. After Elena Belosyuk withdrew her candidacy, three candidates are running for the position — Olympic champion and MP Jean Belenyuk, Minister of Youth and Sports Vadim Gutzeit, and Director of the Institute of Special Physical and Combat Training and Rehabilitation Igor Malinsky.
Recently, Beleniuk challenged Gutzeit to a debate. However, Vadim Markovich refused to talk. The Minister of Youth and Sports believes that discussing with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion is not worthwhile because he lacks managerial experience.
“Having a constructive conversation with Beleniuk? Such a conversation can happen if a person has work experience, knowledge, and clear goals, not just receiving letters. I can discuss various topics. I have the knowledge and skills. He is an Olympic champion, which is great and admirable. Like Elena Pidgrushnaya, also an Olympic champion, these are our respected athletes. I treat them with respect. And how can you relate to the Olympic champion? In our sports family, we must treat each other with respect, and this is crucial.
At work: I am not aware of this person's professional background. This person has not been employed anywhere. As a member of parliament, there has been no tangible support for the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine from this person. We are unaware of his views and plans. Therefore, I respect Beleniuk as an Olympic champion, but I am not familiar with him as a professional. I am confident that this is also the case for all of Ukraine because he has not had any professional experience,” Gutzeit said.
