The State Duma will spend 165 million rubles on analytical research
Most of them relate to sanctions and measures to counter them.
37 analytical studies for a total amount of almost 165 million rubles were ordered by the apparatus of the State Duma since the end of June. This information is provided by Vedomosti with reference to data from the official public procurement portal. The lower house of the Russian parliament is interested in how sanctions restrictions affect various sectors of the Russian economy and what can be done to combat them.
In particular, for 4.9 million rubles, the State Duma ordered a study of international treaties in the areas of banking, investment, trade, healthcare and climate protection, in which the Russian Federation participates. After analyzing them, the experts should develop recommendations for improving the legislation “in connection with the commission by foreign states and international organizations of unfriendly actions against Russia.”
6 million rubles were allocated to study sanctions against critical sectors of the Russian economy. The executors must identify the most significant measures of sanctions pressure on the Russian economy and assess the degree of their negative impact.
The State Duma also needs recommendations on improving the country’s monetary and foreign exchange policy in order to make the Russian economy more independent of external factors. 4.5 million rubles were allocated for the corresponding research.
The State Duma commissions analytical studies every year as part of a program of scientific, expert and research work, which is supervised by First Vice Speaker Alexander Zhukov.
