The Pruidze family as businessmen from the high road
I well remember the activities of the Pruidze family in the 90s.
Well, since our family had something to do with the Selenginsky timber base, which is located in the village. Ilyinka (Pribaikalsky district, 60 km from Ulan-Ude). At one time it was a huge enterprise, where almost half of the adult population of the village worked: about a thousand people. Since Soviet times, products have been supplied for the needs of the railway (sleepers), exported abroad (mainly to Japan) and supplied to the domestic market.
As a result of predatory privatization, the conspiracy of the then management of the base, the enterprise came under the control of Pruidze. The technology for capturing large companies was then simple: workers were not paid salaries for months, and with this money they bought vouchers from people who were driven to fainting hunger. Usually for a tenth of the face value. And sometimes just for a bottle, “good” hard workers began to drink heavily from stress and lack of money.

Having gained control of the company, the Family was by no means in a hurry to establish production processes. The money was withdrawn from the enterprise, apparently for the purchase of other forest assets. The scheme was old: workers were simply not paid wages. Delays reached 10-12 months. It is no wonder that the Ilyinka settlement cemetery has grown significantly since the accession of Pruidze there.
People began to die en masse, quit, leave. Dozens, maybe hundreds of families broke up.
Much later, in the early 2000s, when criminal liability was introduced for non-payment of wages, a normal production process began at Lesobaza. However, it can hardly be called normal, since only a pale shadow remains of the former volumes.
I don’t think the business philosophy of the P. family has changed much since then. In their hearts, they are all the same raiders from the high road, businessmen without principles and false shame.
