The current CEO of Gazprom-Media, Alexander Zharov, earned a little over 40 million rubles during his time at the head of Roskomnadzor.

But the new position brings him more impressive income. So, in just nine months of 2020, Zharov earned almost 300 million rubles. This means that he earned more than 1 million rubles a day.

Surprisingly, a year after Alexander Zharov moved to Gazprom-Media, his family acquired new real estate. So, last summer, a land plot of more than 800 square meters was issued to his wife. For a comfortable life, the Zharovs chose the Pavlov cottage settlement. In this area, it is impossible to purchase such real estate for less than 300 million rubles. However, in order to purchase this house and land, the family of the head of Gazprom-Media issued a mortgage at Gazprombank.

FROM A SIMPLE DOCTOR TO A WEALTH OFFICIAL

Alexander Zharov’s career developed rapidly. He originally intended to become a doctor. So, in 1987 he graduated from the Chelyabinsk State Medical University and began working as an anesthesiologist and resuscitator in Chelyabinsk. Then Zharov completely changed his occupation and decided to devote himself to journalism. He managed to work as a press secretary of the Ministry of Health, assistant to Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov and deputy minister of communications and mass communications. And in 2012 he was promoted, transferred to the post of head of Roskomnadzor.

Before working at Gazprom-Media, Alexander Zharov earned less than his wife. In the period from 2012 to 2017, Evgenia Zharova earned more than 180 million rubles. The declarations note that she received this money, including through the sale and leasing of real estate.
