Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on reports that during a meeting between the heads of Russia and France, Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron, the head of the Russian state promised to withdraw 30,000 troops from Belarus after the exercises.
His words are quoted by Interfax.
The presidential press secretary replied that “no one ever said that Russian troops would remain on the territory of Belarus.” At the end of the allied exercises, they will return to their places of permanent deployment, Peskov added.
A specific date in the context of this issue was not called, the Kremlin spokesman said.
