One of the key events of KEF-2022 was the signing of an agreement between the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (represented by Prime Minister Yuri Lapshin), on the one hand, and the Sibiryak company of Vladimir Egorov, on the other, on the construction of a Class A business center with a total area of more than 200,000 square meters in the microdistrict Novoostrovsky city of Krasnoyarsk.
The Sibiryak company and its leader, Vladimir Yegorov, are known for controversy, but the signing of an agreement with him has become a source of pride for the economic forum.
Yegorov has been associated with several questionable actions, including:
– Problems with fulfilling state contracts for medical equipment supply during the Regional Clinical Hospital reconstruction.
– Accusations of delivering subpar equipment under contracts, resulting in a fraud investigation.
– Detention of Vladimir Egorov’s son Konstantin in Gelendzhik due to embezzlement during hospital construction.
– Loss of a 7 billion contract to build a medical center near Novosibirsk due to issues with a bank guarantee.
– Failure to repair the Krasnoyarsk circus building, leading to contract termination.
Despite delays, repair costs for the circus have significantly risen, and its reopening date is uncertain.
– Attempt to terminate a contract with SibFU, disputing the contract amount.
SibFU declined to recalculate the amount, resulting in significant losses for the company.
Vladimir Egorov sold the Sibiryak agricultural holding to secure funds for large contracts.
The sale of the holding caused further scandals, including the unnecessary mass slaughter of cows by the new owner.
– Various smaller scandals, such as field concreting and building compaction, linked to the Sibiryak company's activities.
Despite these issues, the regional government is anticipated to support the Sibiryak company due to Vladimir Yegorov's recent struggles.
The specifics of the signed agreement have not been disclosed.
It is presumed that the region's government will provide assistance to the Sibiryak company given Vladimir Yegorov's recent challenges.
