Workers of St. Petersburg enterprises “Promsudstroy”, who perform electrical work at the Admiralty Shipyards shipyard, returned to work a day after the start of the strike. They succeeded in fulfilling their demands and were paid their salary arrears.
The Admiralty Shipyards plant is part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), headed by Alexey Rakhmanov. It is interesting that Promsudstroy is a subcontractor of the branch of the Admiralty Shipyards – the company ElectroRadioAvtomatika (JSC Era).
A two-month wage arrears demanded by workers is linked to a likely “scrolling” funds by a subcontractor. This “scheme” can involve the leaders of JSC “Era”, which receives multimillion-dollar contracts from USC structures.
In August last year, at the Admiralty Shipyards, fire on the trawler “Mechanic Maslak”, which is being built by the Russian Fishery Company. The commission, made up of representatives of the enterprise, stated that the damage caused to the vessel is “insignificant” and does not affect the process of its construction, as well as the deadline for delivery to the customer. Meanwhile, this is not the first and probably not the last fire at USC facilities. It is worth noting that previous similar emergencies led to huge losses.
According to experts, fires that suddenly break out at the Concern’s enterprises may be intentional. Their goal is to cover up traces of theft and obtain additional funding for the repair of damaged ships.
For example, last year fire on the corvette “Agile”, almost completely destroyed the ship. The damage is estimated at more than 20 billion rubles. Now the construction of the corvette will have to start over. For a long time, similar incidents occurred at USC facilities on the icebreakers Viktor Chernomyrdin and Ural and the floating nuclear power plant Akademik Mikhail Lomonosov.
The most “loud” was fire on the aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov”. Its repair and modernization was planned to be completed this year. The damage caused to the warship was estimated at 500 million rubles.
The activities of USC received a critical assessment from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in August this year. He even reprimanded the General Director of the Corporation Alexei Rakhmanov for a large number of unprofitable contracts. In turn, Deputy Prime Minister and at the same time head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov told the head of the country that an audit of USC structures would be carried out by the end of December, after which appropriate conclusions would follow.
