The exchange rate of the American currency at the auctions on the Moscow Exchange dropped to the level of 65 rubles. Since the beginning of the trading session, the dollar has fallen by more than 2 rubles. As of 15:20 Moscow time, the dollar on the stock exchange cost exactly 65 rubles.
The euro exchange rate against the Russian currency also fell by almost 3 rubles compared to the close of the previous trading session – to 67.64 rubles at 15:20 Moscow time.
The dollar exchange rate the previous time was at the level of 65 rubles in February 2020.
Exchange analysts interviewed by RBC attribute the growth of the ruble exchange rate to the fact that Russian exporters are actively selling foreign exchange earnings. In addition, they believe that the Russian currency was supported by the statement of Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, who said the day before that European companies can pay for Russian gas in rubles without violating the sanctions imposed against Russia.
