On February 11, the Kirovsky District Court of Irkutsk began to consider a criminal case on fraud on an especially large scale, committed by an organized group of persons.
One of the defendants in the case is the son of the ex-governor of the Irkutsk region Andrey Levchenko, the press service of the court said. The case is considered by Judge Larisa Samtsova.
Together with Levchenko Jr., four more defendants are involved in the case. Anton Ryabikin and Oleg Khamulyak, as well as Andrey Levchenko, are accused of restricting competition and fraud on an especially large scale or committed by an organized group. Sergei Chernyshov and Dmitry Kozhenov, who represent elevator companies, are accused of restricting competition.
The case was transferred to the Kirovsky District Court of Irkutsk on the principle of jurisdiction – at the place where the alleged crime was committed. During the investigation, Andrei Levchenko and other suspects were in the Moscow pre-trial detention center, they were taken to Irkutsk for the duration of the trial.
