Mykola Skoryk from the Opposition Platform for Life was supported by the authorities
Intent.press reports that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made changes to the parliamentary committees on December 13, affecting deputies related to the Odessa region
Mykola Skorik, previously a member of the Opposition Platform – For Life party, has now been transferred to the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy from the Committee for Economic Development
The parliamentarians made a similar decision regarding Mykola Skoryk on October 6, 2022
They also removed another MP from Odessa, Igor Vasilkovsky (“Servant of the People”), from the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, along with Vadim Rabinovich, who had their mandates deprived in early November. Vadim Rabinovich had been recalled from the Committee on Human Rights, De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations on October 6
Vadim Rabinovich was initially interested in Odessa and the Odessa region, and was elected deputy of the Odessa Regional Council in 2020, but chose to remain a people's deputy
Mykola Skorik was formerly the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, and was involved in an incident where about 200 “titushki” in motorcycle helmets attacked peaceful protesters on February 19
The primary defendant in this case is Alexander Orlov, a former deputy of the Odessa City Council who served as Deputy Chairman of the Odessa Regional Administration in February 2014
Sergei Kalinchuk, who served as Deputy Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration, was interrogated by the Primorsky District Court in March 2021
He said that he was organizing the settlement of “titushki” in the White Acacia sanatorium and reported to Nikolai Skorik.
Currently, a petition to remove the mandate of all deputies from the Opposition Platform for Life in the Verkhovna Rada has gained over 30,000 signatures and has been reviewed by President Volodymyr Zelensky
The President responded to the petition by citing part two of Article 81 of the Constitution of Ukraine, which specifies circumstances leading to the early termination of a People's Deputy of Ukraine's powers
- resignation by personal application;
- entry of a guilty verdict against them;
- recognition by court as incapable or missing;
- termination of citizenship or permanent residence outside Ukraine;
- violation of requirements regarding incompatibility of the deputy mandate with other types of activity within twenty days, as a member of the deputy faction of this political party or withdrawal of the People's Deputy of Ukraine from such a faction
- his death.
At the same time, Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of a People's Deputy of Ukraine” and part two of Article 222 of the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine established the procedure for the early termination of the powers of a People's Deputy of Ukraine, according to which a decision in the form of a resolution on the early termination of the powers of a People's Deputy is taken on the proposal of the committee. whose competence includes issues of deputy ethics, by the majority of the constitutional composition of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
However, then the head of state noted that he instructed the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk to work out the proposals set out in the electronic petition and inform the author of the appeal about the results of consideration .
