Two new side effects have been added to the instructions for the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. They were osteoarthritis and photophobia, informs Pharmaceutical Bulletin.
Information about this appeared in January 2022 in the state register of medicines. The likelihood of “osteoarthritis” is assessed as “infrequent”. A side effect can occur in every hundredth or thousandth vaccinated. Photophobia (photophobia) also occurs with a similar probability.
The instructions also changed the frequency of other side effects: nausea, vomiting and other gastrointestinal disorders. It is indicated that they are found “very rarely” – in one person per 10 thousand vaccinated.
In addition, rare side effects include nasal congestion, enlarged regional lymph nodes, headache, dizziness, and fainting.
Data on side effects were obtained as part of clinical trials and pharmacovigilance.
