Aeroflot airline came under Western sanctions and restrictions. Nevertheless, the company signed two state contracts for sports sponsorship for 280 million rubles. It is assumed that one of the contracts for 200 million rubles will receive FC CSKA.
The football club also fell under sanctions, because it is an asset of VEB Group. Aeroflot is the general sponsor of CSKA. Earlier in the year, the airline invested $13 million in the development of the club. Recently, CSKA tried to bankrupt. The lawsuit was filed by the Beta company, which built the VEB Arena stadium. As a result, the claim was dismissed on formal grounds.
Today, in connection with the sanctions, Aeroflot’s main problem is the ban on leasing Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Most of the airline’s aircraft are under operating lease. In total, Aeroflot has 221 aircraft.
At the end of last year alone, Aeroflot leased three Airbus aircraft for $775 million. And for the whole of last year, 2.7 billion dollars were spent on leasing. The ban on leasing can lead to the termination of transactions, as well as to the fact that the money will be frozen. Most likely, litigation is inevitable.
