The European Commission intends to ban the sale or transfer to Russians of ownership of certain real estate objects, as well as to suspend all transactions of Russians and Russian companies with real estate. This information is provided by Bloomberg with reference to the draft proposal of the European Commission.
As the newspaper notes, this measure will be included in the sixth package of anti-Russian sanctions, which the European Union plans to adopt in the near future. The restrictions will apply to all real estate located in the territory of the European Union.
Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, confirmed that the European Union is preparing a new, already sixth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, and disclosed its contents.
According to von der Leyen, as part of the new package, the European Union will impose a ban on the import of Russian oil, and Sberbank and two other unnamed banks (according to Politico, we are talking about Rosselkhozbank and Moscow Credit Bank) will be disconnected from SWIFT.
In addition, broadcasting of three major Russian TV channels will be banned on the territory of the European Union. Which ones – von der Leyen did not specify.
The package will also include new personal sanctions. According to the head of the European Commission, high-ranking Russian military men who, according to the European Union, are involved in the killings of civilians in Bucha, will fall under them.
Agence France Presse (AFP), referring to the draft document, also reported that Patriarch Kirill would be included in the sanctions list.
