Russian Post turned to customers with a statement explaining how it will work in the regime of sanctions and closed skies. The situation is not simple: in a number of countries, parcels are no longer accepted, and the delivery time for correspondence will inevitably be increased.
“Delivery times for international shipments will definitely be increased, with closed skies this is inevitable. If mail sorting terminals fill up to critical levels while waiting for dispatch, we will temporarily stop accepting shipments. We are negotiating with the post offices of neighboring countries in order to agree on the connection of air mail as close as possible to the Russian border. So it will be possible to minimize the time by reducing the path of goods on highways and railways,” the letter says.
Russian Post reports that it does not accept shipments to Ukraine, Moldova and Cyprus, these are the decisions of the receiving parties.
Inside Russia, logistics channels are stable: where necessary, the Russian Post rebuilt routes, replacing air transportation with land ones.
