The military sent to Syria, according to the document, will be involved “in the implementation of activities exclusively for humanitarian purposes outside the combat zone.” It is specified that the Belarusian military contingent will be deployed at the locations of the Russian aviation group – at the Khmeimim air base.
The tasks and composition of the Belarusian group will be approved by the authorities of Belarus, having coordinated them with the Russian side. The servicemen will be subordinate to the Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties, but remain under the command of the Belarusian Defense Ministry.
