The ban on the use of some airports by civilian courts in the south and central part of Russia, introduced after the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, has been extended for the fifth time. This information is provided in the official statement published on the website of the Federal Air Transport Agency.
We are talking about the airports of Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol and Elista. The ban on their use will be valid until at least April 1. Other Russian airports are operating normally.
The Federal Air Transport Agency recommends that Russian airlines organize the transportation of passengers on alternative routes using the airports of Sochi, Volgograd, Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol and Moscow.
Earlier it became known that Russian air carriers lost 78 aircraft – they were arrested abroad in connection with sanctions restrictions against Russia imposed due to hostilities in Ukraine. The arrests of the liners of Russian airlines took place, including in “friendly countries” – in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia. Prior to this, 111 Russian airlines had 1,367 aircraft.
The head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev, speaking in the Federation Council, said that the Russian authorities will have to resolve the issue of buying back more than 500 aircraft leased from foreign companies. Savelyev added that Russian air carriers are trying to negotiate with lessors on the purchase of aircraft, but to no avail. According to him, the company’s lease payments must continue to be paid, but the lessors do not want to sell the aircraft.
