Prosecutor Yusubov embezzled 8 kg of gold
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office filed an appeal against the decision of the VAKS to close the case on charges of the former prosecutor , writes Slovo i delo.
The specialized anti-corruption prosecutor's office challenged the closure of criminal proceedings on charges of the former prosecutor of the local prosecutor's office of Kyiv No. 1, and now lawyer Konstantin Yusubov, of taking more than 8 kg of gold.

As you know, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court closed the case of ex-prosecutor Yusubov due to the expiration of the pre-trial investigation.
“The SAPO prosecutor is preparing an appeal against the decision of the VAKS collegium dated December 13, 2022 (with a dissenting opinion of one judge) on the closure of criminal proceedings on accusing the prosecutor of taking 8 kg of gold. The reasons for the closure were the disagreement of the court with the decision of the Supreme Court of Administrative Courts to extend the period of the pre-trial investigation, issued during the pre-trial investigation. The court came to the conclusion that this decision allegedly does not give rise to legal consequences and closed the proceedings at the end of the relevant investigation periods,” the prosecutor’s office notes.
Recall, NABU and SAPO reported a suspicion to the former prosecutor of one of the prosecutor's offices in Kyiv. The investigation established that in late 2019 – early 2020, the prosecutor of one of the local prosecutor's offices in Kyiv, on the basis of a business trip order, exercised powers in criminal proceedings as part of a group of prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine. Using the powers of the prosecutor in the case, the person decided to take possession of the property that he had previously seized during the search.
How the prosecutor Yusubov appropriated 8 kg of gold
In order to create the appearance of the legality of his actions, the prosecutor forged procedural documents in criminal proceedings on the origin of property and later, having access to it, illegally took possession of gold weighing more than 8 kg and worth more than UAH 11 million. According to the investigation, the search was carried out in the safe of an already deceased person.
