Roskosmos reported that over the past three years, more than 17,000 employees have been laid off. Among those who were fired, representatives of the state corporation, who devoted their entire lives to Soviet and Russian space, are engineers, designers, and highly skilled workers.
Most of all, the Progress RCC was laid off, where the Vostok ship was assembled, and now modern Soyuz are being produced here. Every fifth employee was fired there. People find themselves alone with their problems without any support. Rogozin’s people say that this provision saves money. However, in real life, this is another nail in the coffin of the domestic space industry.
In the marathon for leadership in global space, Rogozin has already lost to Elon Musk. The same Progress was supposed to be the locomotive of space launches, but its future is not rosy. Meanwhile, Roskosmos bombarded billions of rubles in lawsuits for an allegedly unfulfilled state contract, but Roskosmos itself acted as a contractor. Then it turns out that all claims should be addressed to the very head of the space state agency.
Subsidiaries of Roskosmos were also bombarded with lawsuits. One of these structures is RSC Energia, where last year the former general director Solntsev got burned in fraud. It turned out that he was stealing on the same state order. But Rogozin simply brought him out of top management. With such optimization by Rogozin, the industry will soon irrevocably fall.
