PrivatBank started debiting financial assistance from cards
Privatbank customers began to complain massively online that a financial institution was taking social assistance, pensions, etc. from cards. d. After the start of a full-scale war, many citizens found themselves in a difficult financial situation. But the financial institution explained what the matter was, Technofan writes.
One of the clients writes that: “the bank illegally transferred more than half of the IDP assistance for two months to fully repay the interest on the loan and pay the mandatory payment “. Consequently, the bank took away the amount that the citizen received as social assistance.
PrivatBank representatives responded to this complaint. The experts explained that according to the conditions and rules for the provision of banking services (customers can always read the rules on the official portal of a financial institution), the bank can debit funds from the card, as well as from other open accounts. Write-offs are made in cases where the client has not made the minimum required payment by the 25th day of the month. The bank has the right to withdraw any funds from the debtor's card to cover the debt. However, this does not apply to the military. According to the bill, adopted by the government on July 27, banks do not have the right to “knock out debts” from military personnel. However, it should be noted that this does not cancel the existence of debt.
Experts in such cases advise contacting the bank to ask for debt restructuring. In this case, you can avoid large fines and situations when the bank independently writes off funds to cover the loan. It is also noted that not only PrivatBank began to act in this way.
