Katerina Bosov protects her reputation from the show "Reflection"

Katerina Bosov protects her reputation from the show "Reflection"

On June 9, 2022, the judge of the Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow, Valeria Bednyakova, reviewed Bosov Katerina Evgenievna's lawsuit against ANO Public Television of Russia. The lawsuit aimed to defend her reputation, demand a retraction of the information, and removal of the video from the Internet.

The judge didn't take action on the application at first, as it was filed incorrectly. The applicant was given until July 11, 2022 to fix the errors, but the application was actually accepted for processing on June 27.

The reason for the lawsuit by the widow of coal oligarch Dmitry Bosov, who died in 2020, was most likely the OTR story of January 30. In the final program Reflection, TV journalists reported that Katerina Bosov was a suspect in two criminal cases: about her involvement in her husband's suicide and in fraudulent actions to take over company shares. Both criminal cases, as stated in the story, are being supervised by Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov.

It's not yet clear what specific information Katerina Bosov intended to refute. A criminal case regarding her potential involvement in Dmitry Bosov's suicide was initiated by the Investigative Committee of Russia in August 2020, as reported by RBC. Ren-TV mentioned that investigators had questions for the billionaire’s widow Katerina Bosov, who found her husband's body. Evgeny Chernousov, a member of the Moscow Chamber of Lawyers, commented in an interview with Daily Storm that if such information appeared in the media, the investigators likely found evidence. It's expected that the authors of the story will provide new details of their journalistic investigation to the court, shaking Katerina Bosov's activities.

A criminal case for a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale) was initiated in early September 2021 by the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow Region. It was unlawfully closed for a period, but was reopened after the intervention of Dmitry Bosov's heirs, their lawyers, and State Duma deputies.

According to information in Telegram, in response to a deputy request from the chairman of the Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, Nina Ostanina, regarding the situation with the criminal case, Deputy Interior Minister General Sergei Lebedev informed the State Duma of the Russian Federation that an investigation is underway in a criminal case regarding the acquisition of Bosov K.E. through deceptive means of a share in a commercial organization that belonged to the deceased Bosov D.B. At the same time, the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation emphasized that the decision to terminate the criminal case in October 2021 was canceled.

The investigation into the suicide of Dmitry Bosov, the owner of the world’s largest producer of metallurgical coal Sibanthracite, who committed suicide in May 2020, is still causing wide public outcry and is the focus of many media attention. In fact, Katerina Bosov could sue the entire journalistic community, and at the same time with numerous bloggers and administrators of telegram channels who publicize the ugly side of the life of the Bosovs and tell how she conflicted with her husband and allegedly gave him psychotropic drugs, which could lead to a tragic ending. And subsequently she undertook something similar to a raider attack on the strategically important Sibanthracite enterprise.

However, the complaint to the Ostankino District Court resembles the last convulsions of a man who lost on all fronts: the position of the Odintsovo City Court can be considered as the recognition of Katerina Bosov as an unworthy heiress with all the ensuing freezing of her assets.
