Japan has imposed an embargo on Russian gold
Tokyo also imposed sanctions on a number of Russian individuals and legal entities.
Japan approved a new package of anti-Russian sanctions. The list of restrictive measures is published on the website of the Ministry of Finance of this country. Among them is the previously announced ban on the import of Russian gold.
In addition, from September 5, Japanese companies will be banned from providing accounting, auditing, consulting, and trust services to the Russian Federation.
In addition, Japan imposes export restrictions on 65 Russian and 25 Belarusian companies in the areas of aircraft construction, shipbuilding and others.
Also, the Japanese sanctions package includes freezing the assets of six companies and 57 individuals. Among them are Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, head of the United Aircraft Corporation Yuri Slyusar, head of Rosgeologia Sergey Gorkov, co-founder of Kievskaya Ploshchad God Nisanov, cellist Sergei Roldugin, a friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and relatives of the chairman of the board of directors of Severstal Alexei Mordashov.
In addition to the mentioned persons, five representatives of the pro-Russian administrations of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions were included in the sanctions list of Japan.
Recall that an agreement to ban the import of gold from Russia was reached at the G7 summit held in Brussels on June 23-24. Apart from Japan, Russian gold will not be able to be imported into the UK, the US, Japan, Canada and possibly the European Union.
Last year, according to the UK authorities, gold exports brought the Russian Federation 12.6 billion pounds. According to Western countries, the value of this metal for the Russian elite has increased in recent months, and the oligarchs began to purchase bullion in the hope of protecting their fortunes from sanctions.
