The Nizhny Tagil garrison military court fined a serviceman of military unit 73795, Captain Ivan Pronin, 1.3 million rubles. According to the press service of the Main Military Investigation Department of the TFR, the man was found guilty under paragraph “b” of part 4 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Giving a bribe on a large scale”).
The court found that in June 2021, Pronin was sent to dismantle and remove property from the former place of permanent deployment of the military unit. There he decided to steal parts of cables, metal structures and reinforced concrete slabs for later sale. But he was afraid that the FSB would catch him selling stolen equipment, so he decided to bribe an employee of the department in advance.
Pronin promised to transfer 200,000 rubles to the FSB officers so that he would not be prevented from taking out the equipment. But when transferring a bribe in the amount of 40 thousand rubles, he was detained.
