Gozman released after erroneous detention
Employees of the Investigative Committee released politician Leonid Gozman (included in the list of media outlets acting as a foreign agent), his lawyer Mikhail Biryukov said. According to the lawyer, his client was erroneously detained in the case of dual citizenship, RBC reports.
Leonid Gozman was released from the Investigative Committee. It was the same case on which he was interrogated last week and on which we came to the UK today to be interrogated according to an earlier agreement, but the investigator was not on site. And instead of interrogation, Leonid was detained at the Frunzenskaya metro station, – told Biryukov.
He noted that law enforcement officers apologized to Gozman and promised to remove him from the federal wanted list in the near future.
On July 15, Gozman was under interrogation at the Moscow office of the Investigative Committee. He was interrogated as a suspect in a criminal case on failure to notify him of obtaining a second citizenship. The social activist, having received an Israeli passport in 2018, reported this to the migration service only in 2019.
