In one of his previous publications, Babr already talked about how the authorities of the Pribaikalsky district of Buryatia lost 16 million rubles – but now this ugly story has a continuation.
Recall that in 2008 the current first deputy head of the district Alexei Zhilin signed an agreement on the sale of a land plot in Goryachinsk to a local businessman in the amount of about eight million rubles. At that time, Zhilin temporarily acted as head of the district instead of Yuri Baev.
In 2020, both the contract and the ownership of the plot were annulled by the court – it turned out that Zhilin, in principle, had no right to dispose of this land. And since the buyer eventually lost both his money and the plot, he again sued the administration of the Pribaikalsky district, demanding compensation for the losses.
And he won: now the head, Sergei Semenov, and his faithful deputy, Alexei Zhilin, are obliged to pay 16 million (hello to inflation) from the budget (read – people’s) funds for their incompetence. It is not surprising that this defeat in court did not particularly strain our heroes – they will not pay out of their own pocket, after all.
But there is one caveat.
According to a source in the district administration, the money in the amount of eight million rubles was not transferred to the budgetary accounts of the administration. Thus, the scam takes on even more impressive proportions – now we are talking not only about abuse of authority, but also about full-fledged corruption.
