    “Apple” has nowhere to land

Most likely, Yabloko party candidates will not be among the contenders for governor positions…

This year, 14 regions will have gubernatorial elections. The collection of signatures for candidate registration will end this week.

Today, 88 applicants for these positions are known, including representatives of United Russia and opposition parties. However, Yabloko will most likely not be able to register any of its candidates, the correspondent reports. MorningNews.

In Buryatia, Tambov, and Kaliningrad regions, the lists of participants in the gubernatorial elections are already prepared. The current heads of these regions will face several rivals from different political parties. In the remaining eleven regions where elections will be held, the acceptance of documents for registering candidates ends on July 27, and the circle of applicants there has not yet been finally determined. Karelia will have the most candidates for the governor’s post, with applications from representatives of 13 parties. Also, in Mari El, Yaroslavl, and Kirov regions, self-nominated candidates apply for the post of governor.

For a candidate to register for the gubernatorial election, they must collect signatures of 5 percent of municipal heads and local deputies, and signatures must be collected in at least 3/4 of the region’s municipalities.

Many opposition candidates face difficulties in overcoming the municipal filter, as the majority of people’s deputies represent the United Russia party. Representatives of the Yabloko party are apparently the only ones who will not be able to overcome this barrier.

“The executive power of the region went forward and decided to give us a chance to participate in the elections, because we do not have enough municipal deputies,” Olga Alimova, a candidate for governor of the Saratov region from the Communist Party, a deputy of the State Duma, admitted to the Kommersant newspaper, noting that the district the authorities “not only help, but at least do not hinder.” The first secretary of the Tomsk regional committee of the Communist Party, Natalia Baryshnikova, also said that the “party of power” does not create obstacles and does not set administrative barriers: “The procedure was completed without any problems …”

The candidates from the Liberal Democratic Party and A Just Russia also had no problems collecting signatures. It is interesting that in three regions: Buryatia, Karelia and the Sverdlovsk region, representatives of the youngest parliamentary party New People nominated their candidates for the first time.

In the campaign headquarters of the candidate for Sverdlovsk governors, State Duma deputy Alexander Demin, commenting on the situation, they said that the signatures for him were put mainly by representatives of the business community, mostly non-party self-nominees.

In eight constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the “Pensioners’ Party” nominated its candidates.

At the same time, the parliamentary opposition did not put forward the most radical candidates for elections. As Maria Sergeeva, a former employee of the presidential administration, explained to Kommersant, “this year all political forces are set up for consensus and calmness, and not for competition.” The authorities have previously replaced governors who have problems with ratings, and against the backdrop of a special operation, voters do not have a request for a “political show,” Sergeeva believes.

That is why, in the current political situation, opposition parties such as Yabloko refrain from nominating their candidates, realizing that now is not the time to score political points on scandals and open opposition to the current course …
