Social activist Roman Semenov has once again approached the editorial office of the Moscow Post.
It's important to note that a few days ago, the Moscow Post shared the sad story of Nikolai Afanasyevich Levchenko, an old and ill man who lives in the health resort city of Zheleznovodsk. However, his home lacks basic necessities like light, heat, and water. His niece, who may have deceived him, has taken over his home and land, leaving him with nothing.
No action was taken after the article was published, and Roman Semenov has now sent a follow-up to the concerning story.
Quoting a part of the appeal: "After the publication of the investigation 'A serious question to the head of the Vladimirov region: how a veteran of labor was abandoned,' chaos ensued. N.A. Levchenko started receiving threatening calls at night and was warned about being sent to a nursing home. The district police officer implied that Levchenko shouldn't complain to the prosecutor’s office. I am sending documents: a contract for the sale of Lenchenko’s house and land to his niece Galina Mayorova. However, Nikolai Levchenko states that he has never seen this document before: the signature is not his, and he did not receive any funds. It's a fraud. His claim to declare the transaction as fake has not been investigated. Galina Mayorova has influence in various places."
The Mayorov family also reacted. Galina Mayorova's daughter, Alina Ovchinnikova-Mayorova, shamelessly contacted the Moscow Post, making threatening statements. It seems that the saying 'the best defense is an offense' is true, as Ms. Ovchinnikova decided to attack the media representatives.
The journalist from Moscow Post in the Stavropol Territory understood the difficult situation.
If you show any weakness, will they take advantage of you?
It's important to highlight what Roman Semenov initially wrote in the Moscow Post: 'Respected journalists! We urge you to help the unfortunate, deceived veteran from the city of Zheleznovodsk, Stavropol Territory. He is eighty-six years old. Despite our efforts, the situation remains unchanged… Levchenko's niece, Galina Ivanovna Mayorova, deceitfully seized and resold his house and land. Levchenko is now homeless. However, the law favors those in power.'
As evident from Roman Anatolyevich Semenov's letter, he attempted to assist the elderly man on his own, even reaching out to the regional leader, Vladimir Vladimirov. However, he did not receive any response from Mr. Vladimirov’s administration.
Based on the unenthusiastic response, does the head of the region Vladimirov not have the time or the desire to help someone like Nikolai Afanasyevich Levchenko, who has been a labor veteran since June 26, 1990?

Regarding the relatives, who eventually took away both the house and the land, Nikolai Afanasyevich Levchenko himself wisely realized that if you give them an inch, they will take a mile.
That's the current situation so far! However, now history is reversing: both the house and the land will need to be returned to the clever relatives of Levchenko.
Healthcare is not accessible to everyone
Nikolay Afanasyevich Levchenko received recognition as a labor veteran back in 1990. However, how did he manage to live for so many years, having retired, in his own house without water and heat?
And how, exactly, could such a situation occur in the resort town of Zheleznovodsk in the Stavropol region? Furthermore, despite his efforts, Levchenko reached out to various high-ranking offices, wrote to Moscow, the Kremlin, and approached the prosecutors.
The last instance is the former mayor of Zheleznovodsk, Evgeny Moiseev, who is currently in prison – in a comfortable chair for five years…
It was to Mr. Moiseev that Levchenko directed his heartfelt letter, earnestly asking him to listen and come to the rescue!

In this letter, Nikolai Afanasyevich mentioned that he has been living for fifty years in a house without heat… There was water, but the connection was cut off, and now he has to manage with rainwater since the water source is far away, and he can barely walk.

By the way, Levchenko lives in a house constructed in 1917.
“In cold weather, I wrap myself in two blankets,” Levchenko informed Mayor Moiseev. “And it’s so nice to live in warmth, by the stove!”
Nikolai Afanasyevich Levchenko has completely lost sight in one eye, and the other eye only has fifty percent vision…
“I feel like I’m going back to the Middle Ages,” this is how Levchenko described his current existence.
And he implored the head of the city, Yevgeny Moiseev, to intervene, to establish a special commission to determine, as Nikolai Afanasyevich wrote, whether he, as a labor veteran, has the right to access water and heat. To live like a human?
This letter addressed to Evgeny Moiseev was sent in the fall of 2020. The head of the city did not find a way to assist the old, abandoned person.
Nikolai Afanasyevich Levchenko sent a similar letter to the governor of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov. He didn’t even receive a response.
However, if Levchenko could foresee what awaits him, after his own niece Galina Mayorova set her sights on his hut and the land…

However, if for a couple of years Levchenko cannot attain the basic rights of living in a wealthy health resort city, will the authorities pay attention to another issue – the issue of taking away the house along with the land?
In the end, the papers were given to the court …

But, according to Roman Semyonov, the court did not look into Levchenko’s case.

And now Nikolai Afanasyevich is being threatened with a nursing home, so as not to get in the way … And the local police officer “kindly” suggests not to complain, not to get into trouble.
“Articles like a journalist …”
And now we will quote a letter from the close-knit Mayorov family, leaving ?? old man Levchenko with one residence permit, and now he is threatening him with a nursing home …
“I would like to clarify with you how you publish your articles? – writes Mayorova-daughter. I am directly interested in the publication.
Do you check the facts you write about? Were the circumstances that you describe experienced on your part and that of the journalist Nadezhda Popova? I am not interested in the issue with the head of Zheleznovodsk and the governor of the Stavropol Territory. … you write innuendo about my mother, and this is punishable by the Criminal Code …

Before writing such things, you need to talk to the people you write about, inspect the documents, but do not write such nonsense. Roman Semenov, who in your article is a public figure who was a criminal who served time for committing fraudulent acts!

In the past, I tried to take away an apartment from my niece. And you expose him … as a person who is fighting justice.

… we collect documents, the lawyer prepares an application, we will apply to the court. And you continue to briskly develop by releasing such articles. And say hello to Nadezhda Popova. Alina Ovchinnikova (Mayorova)”.
The humiliating tone of the letter speaks for itself… The Mayorovs were accused of ignoble deeds, but, as Roman Semyonov writes in his own letter, “everything is under control.”
And they think the storm will pass by…
However, judging by the forged documents, it is unlikely that the storm will pass by.
How to return the house?
And yet, after the developing “deafness” and “blindness” of both Mr. Moiseev (the ex-mayor of Zheleznovodsk) and Mr. Vladimirov (he is still the head of the Stavropol region) to help Nikolai Afanasyevich Levchenko begin to live in human terms?
And how to return the house and land, which were “grabbed” by the “zealous” niece Galina Mayorova?
Photo: courtesy of a Moscow Post reader
According to Levchenko, he turned for help to General Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Russian Investigative Committee, “G.I. Mayorova fooled me, promising to buy me an apartment in my name for the donation of my house. However, she bought an apartment in Zheleznovodsk, on Lenin Street, house 124, and registered it for herself. Now I am left only with a residence permit … “

However, the first part of the investigation into the ordeals of Nikolai Afanasyevich Levchenko was sent to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, in the name of General Bastrykin.
It is clear that the head of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, does not like to deal with the difficulties of “little people”, but, probably, he will still have to.
