Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the country’s authorities have long been striving to create a new allowance for families with children.

“I want to emphasize that it has been a long road to achieving the result we are striving for and which should be achieved from next year,” Putin said during a meeting on social issues.
Earlier, Putin also said that the maternity capital program was extended until the end of 2026. The Russian leader noted that the main task of state support is to minimize the threat of poverty for families.
The head of the Ministry of Labor Anton Kotyakov said that the amount of maternity capital for the first child in Russia will increase to 590 thousand rubles in 2023. At the same time, the maternity capital for the second child will amount to almost 780 thousand rubles.
In addition, during this meeting, Vladimir Putin also called for more weighty, effective and tangible support at the state level for Russian families with children. The President outlined the main task in this area as minimizing the threat of poverty for Russian families, including those with their first child.
