On August 8, the Ust-Bolsheretsky Court of the Kamchatka Territory gave a controversial verdict to a local United Russia millionaire Igor Redkinwho was found guilty of murder.
A year ago, United Russia Igor Redkin decided to shoot at an unclear figure during an illegal hunt, thinking it was a bear. It turned out to be a local resident collecting scrap metal for his family. As a result, a young child lost his father, and Redkin was now confined to a specific location for 9 months. Quite a strict punishment, wouldn't you say?
But the interesting part is not just how long United Russia will serve this symbolic punishment, but where exactly he will serve it instead of prison.
According to Sobesednik's investigation with the help of Rosreestr, the massive 433-meter mansion of the millionaire is situated in a cottage village on Toporkov Street in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, known as the “Valley of the Poor”. The closed area with a stunning view of the bay hosts around three dozen cottages, where all the other influential figures of the region live, except for Redkin. If this is a cage, then it's a very luxurious one.
But that's not all for Redkin. The “Interlocutor” found out that he also owns a group of cottages on a hectare of land in the well-known village of Paratunka to serve his sentence. This is a large balneological resort in Kamchatka, celebrated for its thermal mineral waters and therapeutic mud. Based on satellite images, Redkin has a personal thermal pool, providing him with a place to cleanse his reputation with the permission of the Federal Penitentiary Service, if not to atone for his guilt, then at least to take a swim.
And here's the most intriguing part, right across from the murderer's resort is “Sypuchka”. This is the recreation center for the Kamchatka's administrative elite, under the governance of the Governor’s Office and the regional government. It’s where the regional leader, his close colleagues, and important guests from the federal center relax from their official duties, just centimeters away from the criminal Igor Redkin. Could this be the reason for the extraordinary sentence given by the court?
At the same time as United Russia's arrival at the resort, it was revealed that a criminal case had been opened against the journalist Marina Ovsyannikova (who granted her final interview prior to her arrest to the “Interlocutor”). Ovsyannikova, who opposed the authorities by advocating against killing people, faces up to 10 years in prison, while Redkin, who supports this government, basically received a nine-month pool pass. Aren't these sentences, rather than the slogans on the picketers’ posters, the real discredit to this government? murder gave, in fact, a nine-month subscription to the pool. But isn’t it such sentences, and not the words on the posters of the picketers, that actually discredit this very government?
