Chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina spoke about the plans of the Bank of Russia regarding the digital ruble.
During a press conference, the head of the Bank of Russia said that the regulator is now testing the digital ruble with several banks, a correspondent reports. DOPs.
“This is really such a test mode: how to open wallets on the digital ruble platform, how to make transfers between citizens … But we want to start with real clients, but also in test mode, but with real clients, in limited volumes, gradually around April 1 2023,” added Elvira Nabiullina.

Recall: back in February of this year, the Bank of Russia on its website informedthat the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and market participants have begun testing the digital ruble platform.
According to information on the regulator’s websitethe digital ruble is a digital form of the domestic national currency, which the Central Bank plans to issue in addition to the existing forms of money.
Today, the Board of Directors of the Central Bank decided to reduce the key rate to 7.50% per annum.
