Zara stores will open in Russia under the new name Maag

The Spanish company Inditex (brands Zara, Bershka, Oysho, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti) intends to return to the Russian market in the spring. Kommersant writes about this, citing sources.

As the newspaper notes, Daher Group became the new owner of the Russian part of the business of the Spanish fashion group. He plans to open the first point in the Moscow shopping center “Aviapark” under the sign of Maag with women’s, men’s and children’s clothing. Inditex suspended all stores and online platforms in Russia on March 5. In October, the group announced the sale of the Russian business. In October, the Russian division of Inditex changed its name from Zara CIS to New Fashion, and Veronika Sokolova became CEO of the company instead of Dorobantu Luciana.

According to sources, Daher Group has already started tailoring new collections. The publication recalls that before the suspension of work in the Russian Federation, the group had 502 points. Experts believe that the Daher Group may face reduced demand, rising costs of doing business and increased competition.
