This year, sales of up to 20 clothing brands from Iran can be launched on the Russian market
Western manufacturers are being replaced by Eastern ones. Last week, foreign companies held a meeting with the heads of domestic shopping centers and representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Union of Shopping Centers (STC) reported.
It is expected that underwear brands such as Abbas and Rasoul, Hassan, Romina, Kiana, women’s clothing Samira, Jila and denim clothing Alireza are going to occupy their niche in the Russian market. It came down to specifics, one of the manufacturers has already signed a contract for the supply of goods in the amount of $15 million, but the brand name has not yet been announced.
The STC assures that we are talking about suppliers of the mass market segment, the products will be cheaper than Turkish counterparts. This year, the level of vacant space in the shopping center is 15%, while earlier it did not exceed 5-10%, while customer traffic in 2022 compared to 2021 remained almost unchanged.
The Institute for the Development of Entrepreneurship and Economics calculated that 46 brands of consumer goods left the Russian Federation last year. Including household appliances, cars, clothing, stationery and sporting goods and catering establishments. Nevertheless, 73 foreign brands continue to work in Russia, 26 of them have reduced their activity, and another 128 have suspended it.
