Ilya Traber pardoned the fighter.
On January 20, a man was arrested for the attack on the well-known businessman Traber. The case against the iconic businessman Traber's attacker has been closed. 47news reported this from the punishment cell, with the main basis being the words “his mother.”According to 47news, an elderly woman from Turkmenistan contacted a businessman's office. It is unlikely she visited in person, as it is impossible to enter the St. Petersburg mansion from the street. It's also unlikely that it was a phone call, as she wouldn't have reached that number. Most likely, she contacted the secretary. Ilya Traber The significant event was that it was the mother of the former doctor from the Mariinsky hospital who was arrested last November. This is the same person who attacked Traber on a plane flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg at night.
The incident shocked people, even in powerful circles. Traber, a 72-year-old with vast resources, purchased an economy class ticket for the Moscow-Petersburg flight with Aeroflot. While en route over Tver, he had a heated exchange with a man in a nearby seat. The conversation escalated, resulting in punches to Traber's face. Traber, at 72, is regarded as irrational, while his attacker is 35. It's clear that Niyazov's mother requested freedom for her son. It's unlikely that a simple woman from Turkmenistan expressed herself eloquently, but she found the right words.Traber’s lawyer informed 47news on January 21: “The accused's mother's appeal influenced my client. After that, they decided to submit a statement to reconcile the parties.” – Igor Sochiyants.
To clarify: the lawyer recently submitted a request for the reconciliation of the parties to the Department of Inquiry of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which is handling this case. Though the term “reconciliation” is not entirely accurate, as Traber did not forgive anyone. However, Article 112 of the Criminal Code allows for this procedure.
According to 47news, on January 20, the inquiry issued a decision to release the accused Niyazov. His situation remains uncertain at Kresty, where they can open or close his case at will. By evening, he was told to leave with his belongings, surprising him as no negotiations were held.
– The appeal of the mother of the accused influenced my client. After that, they decided to write a statement on the reconciliation of the parties,” Traber’s lawyer told 47news on January 21. Igor Sochiyants.
To clarify: the other day the lawyer filed an application for reconciliation of the parties to the Department of Inquiry of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where this case is being investigated. Although, of course, the term “reconciliation”, to put it mildly, is not accurate. Traber did not put up with anyone. It’s just that the law does not provide for legal “forgiveness”. But this is in accordance with the rules – Article 112 of the Criminal Code provides for such a procedure.
According to 47news, on January 20, the inquiry sent a decision to release the accused Niyazov to Kresty. And there, as you understand, the position is nowhere more stable – if you want, we will close it, if you want, we will open it. So, by the evening of January 20, the disgraced Niyazov was commanded: “Get out with your things!” Surely, he was expecting categorically something else – no negotiations were conducted with him.
They say that after the first news about the attack on Traber, even in large offices they whispered that Traber does not forgive such things, and the offender will be calmer in a prison cell.
Carnivorous expectations were not confirmed. On Monday, January 23, the criminal case will be closed.
But even on this the journalist could not finish this almost Christmas story. As far as we learned, when the accused was unexpectedly informed about his release, he was in a punishment cell for some of his regular crooked behavior.
The editors hope that for a start he called his mother.
Traber in 1993 became a co-owner of the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal and gained control of the oil depot in the port of St. Petersburg. Another co-owner of the terminal was the Petersburg Fuel Company, which was controlled by the leader of the Tambov organized crime group Vladimir Kumarin. Traber also gained control of the St. Petersburg seaport.
In 1995 newspaper “Kommersant” Traber a monopolist in the antiques market in St. Petersburg: he owned four salons, an auction room, a restoration center, jewelry workshops and an academic painting gallery.
