The director of the Russian shipyard was asked for five years in prison for smuggling boats
In the Rybinsk City Court of Yaroslavl, the state prosecution requested 5.5 years in a special regime colony to Oleg Belkov, director of BELL Shipyard LLC, in the case of smuggling military boats.
On Thursday, February 16, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the court.
Belkov is charged under article 226.1 (“Smuggling”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, the person involved was engaged in the illegal movement of military equipment across the borders of the Customs Union of the EAEU. So, in the United Arab Emirates, under the guise of civilians, they tried to put two patrol landing craft. The defense side insists on the innocence of the head of the shipyard.
Belkov is under house arrest. The verdict will be announced on February 20.
Earlier it was reported that a 48-year-old woman was detained in Rostov-on-Don for smuggling military equipment into the United States.
